to be fair, the drive in question is a NAS drive, which is not a backup drive by its intended default usecase, unless you slapped it in a nas thats stored as a cloud storage in an offsite location.
its just a matter of people understanding that data redundancy is not a backup, just a level of data safeguard, as it only partially covers some of the forms of data loss and not all of them (e.g not immune to physical methods of data loss like fires, floods and stuff)
not too suprised, given the game runs fairly poorly on the base PS4, and I believe with Natlan, they made the decision to increase the quality of certain elements of the game, and its not going to get any lighter.

confidential cpus are typically engineering samples, usually given to motherboard companies to work on bioses for the cpu generation and meant to be returned to the company after done. engeering sample cpus can be missing features, lower clocks and such that the retail varient may have.
as for geneeation of cpu, its easier to find out via what motherboard socket it is

and even while open source, its implementation on various DE is still spotty, which is kinda the point.
not going to be a steam OS user, but its less what you can’t, and more that any changes that valve patches in via their efforts on AMD drivers, users would get it first and without any fuss.
One example is HDR support. various distros and DEs kinda sat on HDR for the longest time, with mixed results on implementation. Valve just walks in and implements it.

cheapest is some decade old oem desktop ideally with as many sata ports as possible. the most flexible is whatever gives the most pci-e lane bandwith as they can be converted to most things. processor features most dont matter unless the NAS is also a media server, which you want an igpu that can do hardware encoding to whatever usecase you have.

i dont have a reccomendation on drive, but if you value drive redundancy, raid 1 (mirror) or raid 6(if youre using zfs, that would be zfs z2, this layout is basically requires 3 drives to die in order to lose data)
its on you on how you want to handle offsite backups be it cloud, or you having a clone that you manually backup offsite. pick whatever suits your needs
its actually the sole reason why i ended up paying for plex myself. its not because on ME that i ended up using plex, its moreso everyone else that I want to give my server access to with the least amount of hurdles that made me ultimately go that route.

its usually because HR didnt interpret tequirements correctly. sometimes when it says 5 years on x language what was originally meant to be said is that you are a programmer that has programmed for at least 5 years (kinda mid level) and you have mid experience with said language, and not necessarily 5 years of said language.
so 5 years of java programming should actually say
5 years of programming/mid seniority programmer who is comfortable with java
