It’s expensive to be a Trekie. At least the spoon rest could double as “Hand” for Halloween.
I’m a crypto-Trekkie; if you walked into my home and really looked closely you’d only see multiple starship models, action figures shirts, lego sets and a handful of props. Not a single ceramic stoneware baking dish (unless we’re counting mugs and decorative plates in which case there are dozens).
I balked at Le Creuset for decades due to the price.
Once we got our first Dutch oven, there was no going back. It’s so much less hassle cooking to have pots and braisers that work well. The price is worth it, especially if you shop the online sales and get 30 or 40% off. However, these are full price plus a premium over regular equivalents.
That said, it took my partner less than 2 hours to ask which items we should be ordering…
This is one time the merch will be worth it.
I spent my retirement to buy five as an investment
They won’t remain in the packing in our home, but they may help motivate some uptake of cooking skills among the not quite adults.
This is the only part of the collection which I’d want!
I kinda love the glove too
That was the one that caught my eye, too. Also, probably the one best suited for my budget.
I knew the prices before even going there, with the Le Creuset name, but I still went and still gasped at the prices lol
Okay, I’m in.
Are they ceramic or cast iron? I’ve got some Le Creuset, but mine is enameled cast iron.
Edit: premium stoneware.
Some of both. A 1701 grey Dutch oven and a deep bluegreen Klingon braised are available in the ceramic-enameled cast iron. The shuttle is ceramic bakeware. There are also Starfleet and Klingon knobs that can replace the plain ones you may already have.
Here’s the link for the Canadian site.
