Because there are lots of people that use Meta products as their only social media platforms, and the No Kings movement wants to reach out to those people as well. The Electronic Frontier Foundation has had multiple social media accounts on platforms they don’t really stand by for the same reason.

If you wanna organize a protest I wouldn’t recommend doing it on a platform with deep ties to the government

      To add to this:

Just stop using it, altogether. They will never operate in your best interest, no matter the government.

Isnt Telegram and signal the ones you are supposed to use?

It can start on the big platforms, but if it stays there you might as well just CC all your plans to the cops.

There’s nothing wrong with being on every platform. Although I would recommend using corporate platforms to steer people towards free ones. But they don’t even seem to be on any of the free ones.

Telegram and Signal are just as centralised and vulnerable as Meta (to censorship, political blackmailing, metadata collection to incriminate its users, …), just don’t? Federated is much more resilient, and with Matrix being essentially an indiscriminate metadata aggregation and replication engine, prefer XMPP.
