What episode is this from? I just binged the whole series last weekend and don’t remember this
Also the Borg challenge episode.
Easily my favorite episode. The visual and written humor lays out both how insane the Borg challenge is while simultaneously illustrating Boimler’s Kirk-level talent for defeating impossible odds. Scoring 100% seems to require no less than:
- Transport onto a Borg cube armed with nothing but a phaser
- Teach the Borg queen empathy
- Defeat the Borg queen at chess
- Capture five Borg prisoners
- Rescue ten Borg babies
- Set the cube for self destruct
- Establish subspace comms to schedule rendezvous with Starfleet
- Steal an escape pod and escape the doomed cube
One viewing isn’t enough to absorb all the greatness.
Why did he take the risk with fake sideburns when he could have just … grown sideburns?
Sideburns are a William thing. And thus anathema to all Thomases. Thomasii. Thomasse? Whatever.

This is terrific, but why isn’t panel 3 a picture of Thomas Riker? Literally the second Riker, who also has a fuller beard (Thomas doesn’t shape his beard the way Will does).
