I’m still slightly confused, but it sounds like the director edition is the same from the dvd release, which was well before 2010, but the special extra long version is new. I think…

The dvd has updated graphics, I have the 4k copies, but I didn’t get the $90 motion picture one… let me review my copy and see what’s up. Thanks 👍

By updated you mean the one that was released on DVD all those years ago or is there a new version? Either way, I completely agree that the Director cut is very nice.

Yeah, it’s a great show

The swing from the last episode to this is crazy. I enjoy a good backstory, but was hoping there would have been something more interesting on the side quests. Maybe at the academy there is some systems failure and they have to camp outside idk… our maybe the wedding starts and there is a murder they need to solve… Anything… Backstory stuff is ok, but when the seasons are only like 10 episodes, I’m not sure they are with it.

Overall, yes I enjoyed this episode. Would i slip it on rewatch, likely.

I’m hoping they are more a Beverly Picard style where they want to, but don’t.

I like star trek starfleet academy for the most part. What I don’t like about the show is that I can’t watch it with my kids yet.

I though the main criticism of the new shows was the lack of lighting? I really miss the lighting in the older shows… :(
