It sucks that third party candidates have no chance to win without major overhauls in how our political system works. Those overhauls haven’t happened yet, unfortunately, and everyone voting third party for the reasons you state knew it during the last election. I’m sure the people in Palestine would be tripping over their emaciated children to line up and sniff your farts with you.

I live in an area with Google Fiber. I’m on their standard gigabit plan, but apparently 3 and 8 gigabit is available for my address - all speeds symmetrical. Really should be the standard for what’s available across the US, but we wouldn’t want to offend upstanding companies like Comcast, ATT, Verizon, etc.

It didn’t get sorta fixed, the few results that currently show up are just cached results from Cloudflare. The metadata server also didn’t crap out; MusicBrainz made breaking changes to their API.
From the latest updates in the Discord, most of the rebuild work is done. The devs now just need to find the time to get it spun up and working for users - I think one of them is currently in the middle of a move if I read correctly, so it’s just a matter of patience right now.
Because one of the main issues is they also don’t have anyone maintaining the project. There’s no one to make the config change.

I spun up Jellyfin recently just out of curiosity and setup wasn’t difficult at all. You can point it at the exact same library folders that Plex uses, so there’s not really much to migrate. Jellyfin will take time to do its media processing on the first library import, but that doesn’t require anything but patience while it does its thing.
It definitely supports remote streaming - one of my friends in another state was able to successfully sign in and watch something.
Jellyfin’s support for plugins is nice as well - paired with JFA-GO, user account management is a breeze.
The main drawback it still seems to need work on is streaming support on a larger variety of devices, which is where you’d be likely to still run into issues since you share your library with others. A few of my friends have devices that don’t have Jellyfin apps, and it’s the only reason I haven’t transitioned everything off of Plex. I don’t recall exactly what devices they were using that didn’t work, but I’m pretty sure at least one or two were game consoles.
I tried using DuckDNS for a while for DDNS, but noticed it seemed to have frequent periods of a few minutes each when it just wouldn’t resolve. Also was unable to get a matrix/synapse setup working behind it. It’s handy as a free service and nice if you just need basic DDNS, but it’s not the most reliable for hosting stuff from my experience.
I eventually settled on buying my own domain. Was much cheaper and easier to figure out DNS management than I was expecting, and my hosted services run so smoothly now.

This is one of the reasons why I set up a Wireguard VPN connection to my home network, and an on-demand VPN connection on my phone that automatically turns on anytime I’m not on the home network. Even away from home I get the benefits of my Pi-hole+Unbound (running as recursive resolver) setup.
Accept the travel arrangements, then do your own thing instead of hanging out with the stiffs.
I use Watchtower for keeping my containers up to date (apologies if you’re already familiar). Has been very much a set-it-and-forget-it experience.

Personally I assumed third party. It’s the common bullshit line they spout despite knowing third party candidates have little to no chance of winning under our current electoral system. They voted idealistically instead of practically and pat themselves on the back as if their protest votes actually meant anything.
