I had this happen after I changed my unlock code and then locked myself out.

I imagine part of this is a conflict between their logic for reinstalling your settings and the fact that your credentials have been changed and you need to unlock them. The account restore workflow doesn’t have a path for people who recently changed their passcode but need to log in.

I ended up abandoning the process and starting over. But gave me the opportunity to try a new launcher.

It’s a situation where it’s a combination of “it works for me so this is how it should be for everyone” and “the world would be so much better if everyone acted this way”.

On the surface it makes sense.

But it’s almost passive aggressive oppression.

I have a delta of about 200mb ± which isn’t a lot all considered but it changes everyday. The only regular thing I do is use the browser. I might need to exclude it from my incrementals and only do those weekly.

There might be very niche communities but Lemmy has grown so much in the last year. I would encourage you to search for whatever community you are looking for. You might not find the exact equivalent but you might find a good match.

For example, there may be a /r/3dprinteddildos on reddit but that won’t exist here. But I am sure that the 3D community here can point you in the right direction.

Keep in mind how subreddit often got created: when the general community doesn’t provide enough content for your niche, the niche community is developed.

/r/gonewild is a great example of this. It went from amateur porn to a cestpool of only fans content. Other subreddits were created to continue the way.

It’s the same thing here: find a community that’s close and post.
