“It fits the requirements stated in the contract”

Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•I dont want to enter a contract when consuming your product..English
38·6 months agoInteresting how we’ve all become accustomed to the notion that “agreeing to arbitration” has just become “waving your consumer rights” and no lawmaker is pushing to have that fixed.

Besides the obvious ripoff, is there some sort of fraudulent or tax reason why they would make the employee pay for it?

They’re the only ones that aren’t a bridge, a car, a motorcycle, a bike, a traffic light, stairs, a bus, a crosswalk, or a fire hydrant.
Back when I was still on Reddit, I made a comment on a chess sub saying that in chess you are not allowed to make your king “commit suicide” to explain how a stalemate works. One day later I got a message about suicide prevention because someone flagged me for promoting suicide.
What a dumb site.

Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•Amazon Artificially Discounting Items $0.01 Below the Free Shipping LimitEnglish
203·1 year agoI bet this thing was actually worth only $25.
The markups have become insane on Amazon.
I remember when Amazon first started there were good deals on good quality items. Then as they secured a dominating position on the market prices started going up but at least the low quality junk items were relatively rare and easy to identify so it was worth a little premium. Then they got rid of that and now it’s almost all overpriced junk items sold by shady sellers now.
I almost never use Amazon now unless it’s for something specific that I can’t find anywhere else.

I guess this time the only difference is that it doesn’t look like he paid an actually competent person to help him with it.

20·1 year agoI work in an office cubicle. I am constantly interrupted by coworkers asking for stuff or wanting to take about non-work related things. Or I am distracted by other co-workers who are having loud conversations within 2 meters of me.
I am probably 5x more productive at home than in this environment.

May I ask how you got that patched version and how you can trust it?
