Kind of annoying but less so than swapping servers and search should work

Ah.
I’ve used a few distros that locked specific patch levels and that’s just one of the kinds of issues you deal with. Sometimes that version has a bug and you have to wait for the next major release to get the update.
I’m using a rolling release distro, which comes with a different set of problems. But, I have the latest drivers and Wayland updates and have not encountered any significant issues using high refresh rate, VRR, HDR even while gaming.
It’s also possible that Bazzite is using gamescope which does have significant issues with NVIDIA, even still. But the newest versions of Proton support using Wayland directly (instead of XWayland), so it’s possible to avoid using gamescope entirely without losing access to display features.
> nVidia drivers don’t work on Wayland
What?
I’m using Wayland with nvidia-open drivers and I don’t have a problem even using proton via Wayland for HDR.

“employers and taxpayers” is like “job creators”.
They don’t want to say “the ultra wealthy” because that would be too accurate for the owner of the site, who is an ultra wealthy person.

If you’re using KDE, look at KDE Connect: https://community.kde.org/KDEConnect
People have other options, but the easiest option is always going to be to let someone else do it. Their price is, almost always, your private data and a subscription.
Or, you can DIY and self-host. Home Assistant is free and supports many different standards so you can use just about any hardware. It runs on your own hardware and doesn’t report to anyone unless you tell it to. It requires more effort than swiping a credit card and installing an app, however.

OP didn’t update their repost bot to understand what it’s reposting.

I wouldn’t be surprised to find such a project running on local AI, especially for text replies.

A similar tactic is used by some phone service providers.
It will dump calls to an AI that pretends to be an elderly person. Since an older person is like red meat to a phone scammer, they will wait a long time for the “victim” to get ready.
Meanwhile the bot’s script is to waste time. Spend a few minutes “looking for my glasses”, some “oh gosh I think I turned the phone down, where’s that button?”, “HUH, what did you say your name was?”. And asking the scammer to repeat themselves, etc.
It makes those kinds of calls less profitable for scammers.

As an example, I used an old PC and purchased a PCI-E card with a bunch of SATA connections. So the cost was about $30 for the SATA card. The biggest cost was the drives, about $90 per 4TB (x5 because I’m using a ZFS raid setup).
I’m buying 10 more 12TB drives (and 2x 2TB NVME drives) for a future expansion which is when I’ll retire my current gaming PC to be the NAS and donate the current server to whoever needs it. If you buy a dedicated device it’ll be more expensive but you won’t need to install Linux on it or configure it, they’ll usually have easy to use software accessible via a web interface. If you’re comfortable with Linux you can use just about any hardware to get you started.
Like Xanza said, I don’t consider it part of my media server. It’s generic storage that I use for everything. Security system recordings, backups, AI models, self-hosted cloud services like NextCloud, storage for my various syncthing clients, etc.

Dang, that sucks.
My OSMC box doesn’t do any of this, is completely open source and is just Linux under the hood so I can customize anything I can imagine.
Roku has been shit since inception, they’re only now starting to become obvious in their shittiness. In a few years it’ll be right in the “scam purchase” territory.

Well said.
I imagine that sharks don’t eat you

However, they absolutely are able to ban you from a store for not complying. How effective a ban is at a store that sees thousands of people walking in every day, I’m not sure. But it’s something to keep in mind if you have limited other options nearby.
This.
Don’t take the advice of ‘Ignore them and push past them’. You can get trespassed by LP and if you’re caught in that store again it is a misdemeanor and you’ll be arrested, processed into the local jail and have to post bond.
Your store may not do this but it is completely within their right to trespass anybody for any reason and if they’re a store with a lot of theft then they’re more likely to target the people who are attempting to bypass their screening.
They’re standing there during time periods where there is likely to be theft so that, if they’re clued in by LP, they can stop an individual and check their receipts. The average customer they’re going to simply look at your receipt and let you go on your way because they have no reason to suspect you. If they thought that you specifically were stealing then they’d be inventorying your cart.

People recognize the value of digital objects only when they lose access to something like their e-mail or main social media account.

Yes, that’s just extra reasons why the USD is more valuable/more dominant/used as a reserve currency.
The point was that saying Bitcoin doesn’t have actual value because it doesn’t have a military isn’t true. You can see the actual value on any exchange, just like every other currency. The value of a currency is related to its use in trade, even countries without a military have currencies with value.
The fact that the USD is more valuable or used as a reserve currency doesn’t mean that other currencies (including bitcoin) don’t have value.
I was just guessing (it’s how I’d do it) 🥳
