I mean, that’s just the Git behavior.
Phew, I did it again, and I got to Rule 33 (so 32 was the last I made). That’s a big improvement from 25 (which was my previous record). But that was already incredibly hard and the additional constraint made it basically impossible for me. So I looked up how many there are, and damn… I really almost made it. Although those last constraints really make it that hard, someone really finishing it must be insanely good and persistent.
same; very infuriating

It looks strangely satisfying

152·4 months agoIt definitely is strange. But that doesn’t change that it has submerged as this symbol (just look up some new videos about clippy on YouTube). Many people probably do that because of counter-culture; clippy is liked because it had been hated for a long time and many (most?) people don’t know why.

Das war halt wirklich einfach die initiale Antwort 😭
Well, I don’t know if you’re able to read the German thing, but essentially, I asked it to stop and it said something like “Thank you so much for this honest feedback, that’s absolutely understandable” and I answered “this is exactly what I mean”, pointed out how glorifying this response to a simple request is and said that it should save that I want it to just talk normally, and then it just answered something like “okay, got it” and saved this memory for the future.
So yeah, just make sure it actually saves and memorizes, and gets what you really mean. Since I did that, I had no issues whatsoever, and looking back at the old chats, it just feels insane how it talked back then.
When using ChatGPT, I was so annoyed from it constantly saying “Great question”, “you’re absolutely right”, “That’s a great idea” and similar things, acting like everything I say was so smart until I confronted it and told it to stop (see the image, although it’s in German):

It then saved this memory:

Since then I didn’t have such issues anymore.

Programmer Humor@programming.dev•Slapping on a `.expect` is also error handling!
1·5 months agoA very typical use-case would be getting something from a HashMap (or a Vector) and calling unwrap because you know it must exist (as you got a reference to the index or object that must be valid in the HashMap or Vector).
Or if you call a function that returnsOption<…>depending on the current state and you know that it must returnSome(…)in the current situation.

Can’t relate. I use shell all the time, and I always use spaces in file paths, especially to make sure scripts I make still work then
