  • I might not fully grasp what you said, but from my understanding, they were discussing intersex people. In these cases, it’s not an either/or situation at birth regarding sex characteristics or chromosomes. It could be a mix of various combinations, or sometimes none at all. The Y chromosome might not be fully present, which means a penis might not exist at birth, or it could be very small (and possibly non-functional for urination), but there may still be internal testicles (which I understand is quite common for some “types” of intersex ppl). In your interpretation, does this mean that there are individuals with a Y chromosome and then there is the rest of the population?

So, we have XY, XYY, XXY versus the others, who might have just one X, two Xs, or a partial Y (I think there were other combinations too). That doesn’t seem very binary to me. It’s like saying you’re either a kid (under 18 in most countries) or an adult, which doesn’t cover everyone and doesn’t say much either. But maybe we took your comment too serious.

However, labels have always been a tool to simplify life, and they have never been strictly binary. It’s similar to organizing a home with labels, there is always at least one drawer labeled other/miscellaneous.

There are as many intersex people as there are redheads, and they can have two sets of sex organs, no organs, or a combination of organs. This wide category range is why the person you responded to mentioned the parts, as these visibly influence how one’s sex is documented. Intersex conditions can sometimes make this categorization extremely challenging.

  • I wish grocery stores (especially those you can also order from online) had a page where you could pick the store (if there are multiple) and then search for the thing you need and it had a number label that would be associated with the section it is in. This weird example from op would be: beer 10, butter 10, wine 10 etc without it being confusing because it isn’t a category anymore and you only need to look in that section instead of looking like a lost kid running around in the whole store. Also filling up that big sign with just a number would be a lot easier to read from far away.

They can keep the categories if they stick to them, like meat, bread, snacks and so on so ppl who do not care about the number system can still kinda guess like today…

  • I am with you I never considered that an option and I don’t want to think about it either. But I do think our parents gets/got a lot (depending on how our grandparents lived) more than we will. My grandparents left house and money and even a vacation house so my parents could put the sould houses and furnitures money into building their own house. My mom even gave me and my sister a bit to use to buy our first apartments. It is still money even tho it is pretty sad way to “earn” money… I assume your friends parents lived in rented apartments if there was not much left.

  • I laughed a lot when I saw this and I sent it to my parent who laughed too. This is my parents house right now. They want buttons for their lamps but they were forced to get an app for most of them and had to fight the company to put in buttons. They also got a ventilation system without buttons and they could not get buttons except if they payed for a very expensive hub, so they went for the app. But only one person can be connected at a time and you have to unpair before someone else can pair, so the app act as if it is the hub… it is very strange

  • Yes, everyone around me knows (I think most like I saw it in a news letter), but most of us do not know what it actually means. Some just know a few things about their own sign because those attributes was told to them and actually fit. So it is more like a way to give compliments if someone who knows tells you “oh you are x, no wonder you are so great at y!”. So I have no negative feelings about it. I just don’t believe in it.

The only attribut i know that isn’t for my own sign is that Scorpions are horny ppl, my Scorpion friends brag about that. I don’t know why.

As a kid was it common to use it more like a group name just like some use the seasons like winter, summer, spring, autumn child. Many tv series, games and cartoons used it (not in a serious way). I actually bought as a kid the wrong sign from a glas smith and didn’t know it was wrong for many years, apparently it wasn’t even close to mine 😂

  • If your boss is great than you scored big. It is hard to find an understanding boss. Especially if he takes the time to mentor you. Most ppl do not have time to teach their juniors. See this as an investment for the future you. I think it sounds stupid to quit because of one reason if everything else is great. But if working from home weights more than anything else then yes you should switch.

We got the “order” to work at least at the office 2 days a week two weeks ago because the community we had has been lost. But so far have I only seen the same ppl who was at work before the “order” (I have been at work twice a week because of a project so I can tell if there is any difference) so yeah, I think most just yearn for how it was. And in the big schema of things will this only be x years or even only months of your 80-90 year old life.

I assume most are angry because they don’t get a good logical reason to why, because there are none, it is all about feelings, like community, showing customers their employees, or feeling in control because you can see and talk to ppl about what they do and if they need help. It can also be less pleasant reasons that most have already stated.

You are the only one who can make a decision for yourself. Remember that you can switch if need be.

  • Can someone explain to me the reason these bots exists? And why are they always so obvious, all of these bots pics has a girl in them and a very porno ad title kind of name? This bots picture was very mild (pretty normal even actually) compared to what I see in YouTubes comment section everyday… They can be extremely pornographic.

Is this the new “Russian girl close to you” ad?

  • I didn’t known that it was seen as a bad thing by some devs. At my company (consulting) are we saying that we failed if we spin up a full server. we do infra as code very often and that wouldn’t be as easy or possible as with serverless. It is easier to monitor what cost money (need more performance) that way too. I have seen some wish to get into the server, you don’t have to, that is the thing, all your configurations are done with in a portal like azure, the only times (extremely few) i have went into a serverless is when i have to check the apps configuration for a very old app that may have been deployed manually (get surprised every time) and i don’t know the values that need to be set and there has been times logging is done to disk instead of using application insight. But thankfully these are exceptions not the norm. It is usually applications that was a fire and forget project and have always worked until they want some new functionality.
