No memory is me being hyperbolic but it’s severely limited. So I feel like reading a manual line by line means I get much less out of it but it’s a large amount of time invested. So I have to factor in that my retention vs time on task is pretty skewed. It’s frustrating. I need to do something a few times to learn. Learning by reading is not great for me. But tech is a very document heavy industry

Not to take away how important reading these things are but I hate how people with a functional memory have no idea what life is like for people with poor memory. I would forget everything I read the minute button mashed the keyboard to quit the manual. It’s like when trying to imagine what is like living as one of those people without an inner voice. It’s such a foreign idea that its a shock when you realize some people don’t have one

  • I’m super familiar with nursing. They are paid extremely well and have great benefits. And I would argue they are still not paid enough.

A better example is PSW workers. They are paid not enough and don’t have great benefits and have incredibly hard jobs.

But we’re talking about population level stuff here. You need to aggregate the jobs women work not just cherry pick a few. Many of the jobs are not nursing. Likewise there are many jobs men do that are demanding and don’t pay well.

  • Point is that a male nurse of equivalent education and experience is still paid similarly.

Aggressive jobs that involve competitive industries and high stress like wallstreet which demand a very shit work life balance are not favored by a lot of women I believe. Work/Life balance is something a lot of women have pressure to maintain over men. Like I said though men have more pressure to earn a higher wage. Testosterone is something that just makes men want to compete including earning a higher wage.

  • So what?

I do it a lot with my comments because I’m older and my grammar is terrible but I feel like I have ideas I would like to share but struggle to make them sound clear or even concise.

My longer ranty grammatically poor comments are me. My clearer comments that get better engagement from people and understanding are my comments that I asked chatgpt to improve.

I don’t see why this is a bad thing. It is a chat tool. I like tech. I’m all for anyone using a language tool to produce language based products. As long as it isn’t doing the work and is being reviewed then I would question anyone who isn’t using it.

Here I’ll run this comment through AI again to show the improvement:
