Only five people at Microsoft gave enough fucks to protest. It should have been all of them. They should strike for fucks sakes.

In retrospect this is the type of news you would expect if AI was secretly taking over the world.
Have you seen how long a bit locker key is?? You have to type in a unique key for every computer. Luckily there is only numbers in the keys.
Will this affect libre wolf?
What about for users who only have local accounts? How would they provide the bit locker code? Its normally linked to your Microsoft account no? Maybe there is a local place to find it and its up to you to back it up just in case.
Me personally I have my 2TB ssd split into two partitions with windows on one and all my steam and bnet games on the other. If I ever lose my bit-locker code or it locks up I guess I can just reinstall.
I use my laptop with Linux on it for any personal data, my desktop is exclusively for gaming.
We need a Federated FOSS Discord alternative built to work with the activity pub protocol. I’m currently setting up an XMPP server, but I hope something like XMPP but works with activitypub gets made some day.
11·2 years agoWe don’t need a completely decentralized system. Matrix is not efficient, its bloated and overly complicated compared to what you could have. A federated system with minimal overhead would be nice. This is the reason I went with XMPP over matrix for self hosting a discord alternative. I just wish we had something like XMPP that interacted with activitypub.
