I don’t know if this would fit your needs but I just have a wireguard server and when I travel I just connect to my VPN from my phone and start my access point …then all the other devices will be connected to my VPN through the phone access point (there is an option to let clients use VPN in access point settings) and watch jellyfin. For me this is the simplest and cheapest option I found.

Does your ISP allow you to get external requests on port 80? Mine doesn’t…And I figured that the hard way trying to access my jellyfin server. Are you behind CGNAT?
Great presentation! I didn’t know I could make video calls on xmpp …none the xmpp apps I downloaded have the option to call my wife’s account…is this a server enabled feature?
Sorry,I had just waken up and my lemmy app (jerboa) is terrible when erasing words…got some punctuation erased.
Last time I tried aws, took me like four hours to figure that I had to borrow another IP address (different than the ip I received when created the instance) in order point it at my domain. Took me a long time find that option in the menu too
Edit:added cohesion and some punctuation.
I open developer tools every day doing that!
Yeah my main fear is to get stucked in a bootloop but I think Ill try flashing it …
Yeah I heard about magisk but I’m not that techy apparently cause I couldn’t get how to install it but I’ll give it another try
I’ve dropped MIUI for the stock ROM UI and the Lineage with microg OS …my Poco x3 NFC got great! …until my banking app started blocking non official android systems …

- portainer
- pihole
- wireguard server
- jellyfin
- youtube-dl
- nextcloud
- tor/privoxy
- freshrss
- minetest server
- nginx proxy manager
All running locally on a 2008 lenovo core 2 duo with 2gb, 1 120gb SSD, 1 1tb HDD and 1 250gb HDD…couldn’t open the services to the web since my ISP blocks every port (except 52180 udp) even if I open them in the router sothey can change the double on a fixed IP withppen ports in their “enterprise” package

fernandu00@lemmy.mlOPto Self Hosted - Self-hosting your services.@lemmy.ml•[Question] Best way to set up docker containers that depend on other container1·2 years agoMaybe I’m the one missing something. Are you saying I just have to use the LAN IP adress in the dns line in the compose file? I used the docker IP adress because I had some issues with containers not communicating with each other because every time I create a new container docker creates a new network for it. I’m gonna give it a try once I get home. Thanks!

If all the devices are in the same network you should be able to stream content even without internet. I had to wait for 5 days to my ISP set up my internet on my new address and I watched my jellyfin library in the meantime with no problems.
