No. Wanted to see CDs gone the moment I discovered USB-sticks.
Didn’t like them in the first place, because floppy disks never needed to be ‘burned’.

Rust is easy to learn. All you need to know is that new variables consume old variables when assigned.
Once you know that you will never make any ownership error again. >:)
I will one-up your status position and only use a smart watch at work. Now revere me for I am the new Steve Jobs!

is saying famous last words about CEOs, not developers.Like what investor needs Lauri Kesküll to run a company when it can be run by just a few developers.
Why not merge into a larger company and get rid of all the “middle management”?I remember seeing that happening once.

They split the actual Chinese company Douyin into two so that TikTok would abide to US law.

Technology@lemmy.ml•Evidence of cell phone surveillance detected at anti-ICE protest
7·7 months agoIt’s amazing how many times I saw this knowledge being spread, together with thousands of umbrellas and hard hats during the Hong Kong riots from day one with “Hong Kong, add oil” as their first slogan combined with very mild mannered arguments (we don’t know if it could lead to more serious things) against the extradition law which was supposed to affect maybe half a dozen people per decade, all serious criminals. A law almost every country has on earth that the US used against the daughter of the owner of one of the largest companies in the world, for the flimsiest of reasons, in contrast to the walled-off-to-arrest-one-particular-teen-girl-axe-murderer-to-be-shipped-to-Taiwan-law Hong Kong tried to implement.
How many people have been affected by the Alien Enemies Act again?
And how did the
The protests were call “No kings” remember that? Remember that it was called NO KINGS “Unbiased. Straight. Facts” SAN? Do you remember that? No? Okay, well…“anti-ICE”it isprotests go?Because apart from the shocker that you were being surveilled, I think the protests needed a little bit less “Zero demands, not one more” chants and a little more ‘We demand and protest until we win and get what we want’ kind of thing.
People are missing the point of the author here and the author is missing how far AI has come.
Msot AI today has no senses which is why it’s so disjointed.
That doesn’t make it a digital parrot without the bird part of the parrot,
but it does make it a superbrain in a vat.AI in cars and drones however do have the intelligence of insects.

112·9 months agoIt’s quite interesting how American’s have always been about their government’s “checks and balances”
Hahaha, that’s a good one.
The US has always been about slave owners on stolen land to be in power with all its perks but without any of its responsibilities by putting as much wool over everyone’s eyes as much as they can.
Every supposed check and balance the US has is to keep these oligarchs in power.
And they’re all laughably theatrical like putting in enormous importance into term limits, like it’s some kind of pinnacle of democracy.
As if dictators will stop dictating because there’s a clock involved.
All it does is stop the public from choosing the one leader that isn’t corrupted by monied interests over and over again.
It does not stop a leader from speedrunning into doing whatever he wants.
This looks more like a joke.
I used to get stuck forever without Stackoverflow, avoided pointers altogether, got stuck in vim for hours figuring out how to exit the program and did not use it again for another five years.
Assembly is painfully slow to write anything in.
In the past I’d be forever stuck without Stackoverflow to help me.
I couldn’t get out of vim without a miracle.
Pointers were so confusing, I’d go without them.

Technology@lemmy.ml•Exclusive: China to publish policy to boost RISC-V chip use nationwide, sources say
201·11 months agoOh yeah, let’s call someone ‘using open source’ in terms of ‘to exploit’.
Maybe the US should also ban GNU licences, open hardware licences and force Linux to sell itself to Google while we’re at it. Then destroy all distros except chromeOS.
After all, China could exploit these open source software projects. And in this way one no longer has to be confused about copyright and copyleft being opposite ends of free democratic nations and communist authoritarian empires. /s
