  • It is difficult to think of how they could coexist.

    By not being dicks…

It’s that easy, to coexist they just need to stop being dicks. And the way to get them to stop being dicks, is by being dicks to them.

When it’s everyone against a couple dicks, they’re pressured to at least fake being decent.

Let them go wild, and normal people see there’s no consequences to being a dick, and they act like dicks too.

It’s insanely simple. Everyone just needs to agree that as long as no one is harming anyone else, it’s cool. And the only thing that’s not cool, is fucking with someone else.

Up to 1978 it was a 14 year term, and you can apply for a second 14 year term.

28 years after you created an IP, it was open season. The first SG-1 episode was 1997 btw, 28 years ago.

Now it’s the authors entire life plus 70 more years.

We need to start fixing the shit the boomers broke instead of just accepting it because we weren’t alive when it made sense.

  • Does it?

I always liked the idea that Starfleet is the “relief valve” for humanity. It takes the people desperate for adventure, who wouldn’t be complacent even in a post scarcity world, and fling them as far away from Earth as humanely possible so they don’t change the government.

Which, even if Earth is a Utopia, it shows that on a deep institutional level the one world government has no issues with manipulating their citizens and makes me question how much of Earth is really a post scarcity Utopia in the first place.

As many shows Trek has, they just don’t really touch on what life is like back on Earth except rich officers come from giant farms/plantations that still have a bunch of field hands… Which doesn’t really jive with the story we’re told.

Id love to see something about what Earth is really like for people.

Like, what the Expanse did where they go back to Earth and I think everyone had “enough” but that included a large group of homeless drug addicts that lived in squalor somehow.

This sounds like what they’d do…

Put everything “good” under “sensitive content” so kids and people who don’t know better leave that stuff hidden because when blatant racism, bigotry, and fascism doesn’t fall under “sensitive content” people will assume that shit is really really fucked up and and keep it hidden.

These asshats are gonna fuck around and get banned everywhere except America and then Americans will flock to other countries social media because normal people don’t want to hang out in a Nazi clubhouse

  • Nah, it’s for the same reason they never went to a jungle world.

Back in the day they just shot everything in the desert outside of LA. It’s the whole reason westerns were a thing in the first place, free setting.

So there was a bunch of props and sets from the studio, and Star Trek could do it for free.

I mean, wasn’t even MASH in the desert for some reason?

  • Direct from Seagate wouldn’t be bad, check their store first to see if you can cut out Amazon.

I was talking about random reseller stores. “Manufacturer refurbished” for things you can’t see is almost always a good idea. The manufacturer has their brand name on the line and usually go over common fail points and replace if it looks worn.

Stores/Amazon doing “renewed” means they tried to cover up superficial damage and is completely different. It might look ok on the outside and be complete junk on the inside.

Think of “renewed” as “open box returns” except it might have taken the last user 5 years to return. It’s a much worse gamble.
