That is my (combined) M$ trackball. There are 2 boards in my trackball, 1 for buttons and 1 for the ball, First one the ball board stopped working, the second the button board stopped working, I opened em up, unplugged the top board from the bottom board, put the 2 working parts together and it is still going strong 26 yrs later, even the wheel and buttons only click once

wow, almost as old as my (combined) Microsoft trackball, that is about 26 yrs old. Where yours has a bald spot from your finget, my trackball has lost ALL texture, so smooth a slightly sweaty hand slides easily. I have no idea how many hours it has been (ab)used for, I was unemployed when I got it and spent most of the day on IRC and playing games, good times. Haven’t found a decent replacement yet, I think my time is running out

I’m using the “official” Nvidia driver and Kubuntu, due to VR, and have not had any issues with video. Still wish I’d gone AMD though

This is an issue for me. I have a G13 and cannot find drivers to get it to work, I’m talking to program the buttons so they do something as right now it does nothing but display G13 on the screen. Of the 2 options I have found/been told about g13d and g13gui neither will compile to work on my system

Interesting knot. As I stated my shoelaces are usually the cheap ones that come with the shoes, so come undone fairly easily (adds about 2 seconds to untie). Quality laces would be much harder to remove. I have been tying shoes for so long it is hard to even do the other foot first, let alone learn a new knot and to overcome 45ish years of tying habit, hell I usually tie in the dark hehe

Double knot, many of my shoes/boots have had the cheapest possible laces that have no friction between them. Since I started to double knot I no longer have that problem. Alternately get the slightly elastic laces that stretch a little

I love the Gnome DE, used it years ago. You are correct, KDE (+Wayland) is better for the gaming side and more like a windows interface, it also got further into my VR setup than Gnome (X11 or Wayland) would let me, switched to Kubuntu from Ubuntu. One day I will get back to the setup (before W10 EoL) but I have forgotten so much in the last 10 years :(

Oh, the memories… but we were paying a slight copyright fee on every blank disk and tape purchased in those days, regardless of use.
