Oooh I’ll give it a try, wasn’t aware of it.

Another reason to hate LLMs on the list.

I have yet to try revolt, but I thought you could just add stand-alone servers to your client (like idk, mumble). Is a revolt instance a whole separate ecosystem/infrastructure and not just a server entry?

Maybe

They are just making shit up and doing jack shit
I tried checking yesterday but got very confused. My last yearly invoice was 48 USD/Y (so 4 USD/mo). However looking at the price page now it shows a regional pricing equivalent to around 8 USD/mo with a discount available for “first time” sub which cuts it to 3 USD/mo. It’s kinda confusing, I’ll probably be emailing their support to se what’s up. 8/mo is still doable since it’s something that I use everyday, but it is a big change.
Wait gitkraken is getting a price hike? I haven’t received anything on email about this I think. Shit, I’ll look into it because if it is such a surge I might not be able to justify its price with my currency even if it is one of the few licensed apps I use. Dang, thanks for the heads up OP.

People underestimate how powerful stickers are to the average person
I still miss the days of MSNPlus where I could add text shortcuts to display reaction images/gifs

A far more effective tool
I get what he means and in most points I agree (I’ve worked primarily as a front end dev so far in my career), but as you get more familiar with these frameworks they tend to be so much faster to iterate on compared to a more “cleaner” setup. I’ve seen plenty of situations where using such frameworks were clearly overkill, but were still much faster to setup and were ready to be expanded on if needed in the future. Everything about the package ecosystem on web dev he’s 100% on point though. Things like the left pad situation are insane.

This almost reads like satire

This so much. I hate all the speculation and grift around it. If some crypto stay stable enough to use as a currency I’d be up to try it. I’ll look into monero, I’ve never heard of it.

Honestly I can’t replace discord with something that doesn’t have the streaming feature. I use that waaaay too much

Honestly the current windows desktop app is fairly decent, it’s what makes it bearable to use for me.
I mean, it’s still really impressive upgrade even if technically it was a simple change, they are right to make a fuss about the change
