Eh, it’s hit or miss in my experience.

Man, I just had the dubious pleasure of helping my dad migrate from an iPhone 8 to 12 over the phone. It was a several hour/day affair. He had a different account for iCloud and the app store, and had gotten his account locked on the second. Also, he was going from 256gb to 128gb, so we had to move some stuff to iCloud. Add to that the fact I’m an android user.
We ended up putting my mom’s phone with the camera facing his screen during video calls.
I think his least favorite change was going from touchid to faceid. The screen is a lot bigger, though.
Id being one billion doesn’t mean it’s the billionth repo.

Yeah, color and text say save, icon says delete. So it’s a 2 to 1 chance it’s going to save. Good odds!
The company I used to work at paid for me to get two certifications on Dynamics. Once I left there and got another job, I didn’t put th3 certifications on my CV so I wouldn’t be called to work with this.

I don’t agree. To me it is like trying to make water cleaner but mixing it with contaminated water.
Not overnight. The merge took 10 days, otherwise it wouldn’t be perfect.
At least you have until the end of the day to (try to) regain some motivation. My daily is currently at the 10am. Smack dab in the middle of the morning.
What about typecasting to a car?
Upvote for the stormlight archives reference.

Programmer Humor@lemmy.ml•pISSStream is a macOS menu bar app that shows how full the International Space Station's urine tank is in real time
72·1 year agoLove the errata:
I found out about the data stream from https://iss-mimic.github.io/Mimic/, which has considerably more and more interesting stats than just how full the piss tank is.
I will not be adding any of them
Interesting, thanks for sharing. I love these linguistic quirks.
I think you hit the main issue right there. Devs don’t hate the tool, they hate that the tool doesn’t solve the issue. Like trying to drill a hole with a screw and a hammer.
No, I do it too. Specially if everyone else logged out and I can finally work in peace without having to stop to help everyone else.
Oh, do share.
