Ideally, yes, but don’t know anyone that would be willing to put up with the hassle of it. I’m in a single story building on the outside corner, so unless a plane lands on it, I should be alright.

OMV for the host.
- RAID 5 (4x1TB)
- Weekly incremental internal drive backup
- Weekly external backup in a firesafe box
I’m just doing the RAID setup today should have the rest done by the end of the month.
I’m setting up my 1-2-3 backup for the first time today, actually. It’ll be nice knowing that my years of art projects and collected media will finally be safe from just about anything.
I had never played Wordle before today, but it’s free with no sign-in through your browser. I was surprised I got it in 3. Took like 5 minutes from the second guess to the third though lol.

Got further than I expected, but I’m no good at chess.

Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•During their visit to the United States, President Trump showed President Zelensky and President Macron his collection of MAGA hatsEnglish
11·4 months agoBingo. I work with clothing and people like to complain about the generics, but if you get something above the absolute cheapest shirt we offer (go figure, it’s what most people go for), you’ll end up with something pretty nice.
MAGA doesn’t care about quality. Like, at all. All of the customers I’ve gotten that are clearly on that side of the fence all want it cheap and fast. Who cares if it looks or feels good as long as you tick the box. They wouldn’t know taste if it threw up in their mouth.

I now have several hours in this game. If you enjoy setting up networks and working with the equipment, this is a great simulation for it still being a super early version. And if you’re wanting to test the waters, a great way to test if it might be your thing.
Side note: Not for the OCD-inclined.
Well damn. I might just be sold based on the trailer alone.
I would love a horror game set in a massive building with nothing but networking equipment. With the goal being to fix and patch old parts of the system finding more and more awful things that have happened to the previous employees.

20·6 months agoAnd that’s why so many core Linux utilities have worked almost exactly as they did from the very beginning. If your input and output demand no changes, the only improvements left to make are performance.
Yay! Cencorship! I spent an extra 3 seconds focusing on the word psychopath trying to figure out what went wrong instead of reading it like a normal word. Isn’t that so much better than offending an algorithm with the letter ‘h’?

Programming@programming.dev•AI Models from Google, OpenAI, Anthropic Solve 0% of ‘Hard’ Coding Problems
4·6 months agoI think part of this comes down to the format. Physics can often be analogized and can be very conversational when it comes to demonstrating ideas.
Most code also looks pretty similar if you don’t know how to read it and unlike language, the syntax is absolute with no room for interpretation or translation.
I’ve found it’s consistently good if you treat it like a project specification list, including all of your requirements in a list format in the very first message and have it psuedocode the draft along with list what libraries it wants to use and make sure they work how you expect.
There’s some screening that goes into utilizing it well and that only comes with already knowing roughly how to code what you’re trying to make.

No amount of money could ever achieve this
A big problem with trees is roots, especially in cities with dense underground infrastructure. If there’s an actual way to produce the same amount of oxygen as a tree in a smaller space, I’m all for it. I’m honestly okay with how these look, assuming low maintenance.

I was looking at open-source app builder toolkits the other day and they’re all “ask an AI to build garbage” wrappers. There were way fewer options for toolkit-style visual app builders because those can’t be loosely slapped together in a couple weekends.
