For the past few years, BMW has behaved in a way that seems to treat their buyers as targets for more revenue over everything else. Remember all their subscription bullshit? People hated that, and worked around it, and eventually BMW had to dial that back, because having a subscription for heated seats makes people want to riot.
So, definitely on the “don’t even consider” list.

What’s the lived experience of the workers there whom you trust? Do you have evidence of leaders in the organization making hard choices to do the right thing?
Very helpful, and very hard to get around if you don’t already have a connection.
Though in my experience, people will tell you a fair amount about the organization indirectly; and will often answer direct questions.
I think your argument depends on rational leadership with a horizon more than a couple years out and grounded in tangible value delivered.
My read of the situation is that leadership is motivated by short term gains and FOMO, and a substantial part of the US economy is disguised garbage production, so replacing many jobs with AI will increase profits without obviously damaging corporations for a couple years.
So for example, there was a study recently that found, when you’re looking for the best whatever it is, in something like 44 percent of cases ChatGPT is citing a blog post from a company’s own website where they listed themselves as the No. 1 best option and then 10 competitors, and ChatGPT is just spitting this out to other people.
It’s different than it used to be, right? People have been tricking search engines forever, but with a search engine it shows you the web page where the information came from. If you go to my website and it says, “I’m the world’s greatest hot dog eating journalist,” you go, “Well, maybe he’s biased,” right?
And somehow, not that many people are looking at source: AI and starting from the premise that it’s garbage at best and biased deceit most likely.
Does anyone know how the 2019 NLRB probe for basically this (firing folks raising ethical concerns) has progressed/concluded?
So if your system is oscillating wildly, your P term is too large, right?
