That’s literally not a captcha, that’s “AI” training. You could probably input anything.

They’ve started telling people they’re blocking content for anyone who use adblock. It also seems like they might be shadowbanning those who don’t comply after a while(account can’t play any videos, but works fine when logged out or on other accounts, but zero notification from them about any wrongdoing).

It’s misleading, but not wrong based on the hardware.
i3-6100U - 2015, 15W TDP base speed 2.3Ghz (has no turbo), 3MB cache
Ultra 5 125U - 2023, 15W base TDP, base speed 1.3Ghz, turbo 4.2Ghz(57W), 12mb cache.
Honestly I’m surprised they didn’t go for the Ultra 9, with a 2.3(45W) base, 5.1 tubo(115W) and 24MB cache.

I’m genuinely confused about the use cases you all seem to have. When are you sitting in a field on your phone trying desperately to convert a .avi to a .mkv?
I worked IT for a newspaper back when they were more relevant. The satelite offices and in-field work had a surprising amount of problems like that.

Different use cases.
It’s not like your uploading and downloading gigabytes to it to use ffmpeg. For that you use something local. This is for converting smaller files conveniently. For example from a laptop and you don’t want to use a public converter that might keep the content.
If you regularly convert certain file types on a computer, dedicated programs tend to be better than these combo ones anyway.
Spending time in programmer humour communities, you quickly realize that most memes are based things that are ~ten years old or more.
Benefit of data managers: Tags for easier searching and grouping, grouping that is folder agnostic, easily choosing a thumbnail, and in text focused ones you can usually search the content of the files from one location and easily look through the results for the correct one, etc.

A tire valve stem removal tool is a few dollars.
In 2020 it was used at least in part on over 80% of websites according to w3techs.
Yeah the whole “I love unions, but we at this company are a family so we don’t need that”, is peak anti-union talk. Throughout history it’s been used by people who are horrible to their employees.
The main deflector or deflector array is crucial for stopping microscopic particles from wrecking most ships at relativistic speeds, and is technically called the “navigational deflector” for that reason.
At sub-light speeds those same particles are barely noticable, if at all, when stopped by the normal shields, basic deflectors or even hull plates. Which why they don’t modify it while at warp, and pretty much only use it while at sub-light speeds.
In-universe it was designed to serve multiple purposes and be used in research or defense of other ships. And I seem to remember there being some sort of lockout where the ship wont go to warp if it can’t engage the deflector. Since even a small particle cloud could destroy the entire ship a fraction of a second after it set off.
Are you trying to make a joke? Or did you not get that the comment you replied to is also a joke?

It wouldn’t surprise me if Zuckerberg hired them.
The memes about him have been a lot less derisive, and recently they are semi-positive towards him/meta, people were reasonable in the response to his green screen grilling video and there are jokes about them changing the Threads logo high up on lemmy, etc. And he registered an X logo as trademark to potentially counter Musk.
But honestly we might never know. I doubt they went to work for someone as self-destructive as Musk.

There are multiple stories like that from several people.
Apparently there were people at Tesla who were effectively employed to get fired when he was in one of his moods.
And if you read enough of the stories it all comes down to basically a single PA who kept him away from important things. And that person stopped working for him shortly before the public realized what an asshole he is.
And after learning that, I can’t stop wondering who they work for now… And I want to see a show based on their biography.
Always remember the magic words when it comes to corporate bullshit: “Can I get that in writing?”

Going to the about window to check for updates is a decades old thing among thousands of different software(it’s the same in Edge, Chrome, Opera(old and new), etc)
Clicking on the “Add-ons and Themes” literally takes you straight to the extension tab(extensions are add-ons).

Update on the vote results, for people who don’t want to go there:
Pro John Oliver: 61.7k
Return to normal: -13.7k.
In some cases they’re testing/training for the most common solutions human use for a problem with multiple paths and choices.
It’s part of trying to make them seem more human-like and as if they have general intelligence. And not just give the optimal and computer calculated solution, or the solution one or a few programmers think is the common solution. It needs data.
And if it’s one of those who actually check, but has multiple paths, do the convoluted one(or just refresh).
