Technology@lemmy.ml•archive.org flash emulation quality just increasedEnglish
15·3 years agoWorth noting if you’re serious about Flash emulation, check out Flashpoint Archive. They have ways to play almost every single flash game and animation out there through a convenient launcher.

Technology@lemmy.ml•Microsoft wants to move Windows fully to the cloudEnglish
11·3 years agoThe writing was on the wall considering how much they’re trying to push Bing into Windows 11. They want everything to be online and connected to their services, and it sucks.
You don’t love being watched by everyone in your workplace? /s

Technology@lemmy.ml•DuckDuckGo’s privacy-focused browser is available for Windows nowEnglish
1·3 years agoI agree, but having more browsers that are privacy-tuned by default for the layman is always good.
Elden Ring is such an easy choice. Just a fantastic open world that encourages exploration and discovery. I think you should give it a second shot OP.

Technology@beehaw.org•Reddit communities with millions of followers plan to extend the blackout indefinitelyEnglish
1·3 years agoI would be cautious too if I were a sub owner and guiding people to an alternative honestly. Lemmy and Kbin both are relatively unstable right now, even if they are pretty good. Waiting a little to see which instances are more stable and likely to last is a good move before planting people somewhere and making an official replacement sub.

Technology@beehaw.org•Kbin.social has disabled federation temporarily.English
0·3 years agoIt’s honestly amazing how much interest Kbin has gotten despite constant server issues and no federation. I expected it to be a little less active but when I visited there was a bustling community there! I hope they open federation soon so I can spend more time there.

Technology@beehaw.org•The AI feedback loop: Researchers warn of ‘model collapse’ as AI trains on AI-generated contentEnglish
2·3 years agoFeels like AI creators can only get away with using pre-2022 data for so long. At some point the information will be outdated and they’ll have to train on newer data, and it’ll be interesting to see if this is a problem that can be solved without harming the dataset’s quality.
My guess is they’d need to have an AI that tries to find blatantly AI generated data and take it out of the dataset. It won’t be 100% accurate, but it’ll be better than nothing.
I really need to get back into LoR and continue to terrorize people with Teemo. Subbed!

Not to mention Lipton Ice Tea is rubbish. You can make your own for 1/10th of the price, and it’ll taste 10x better.
