I think you’re right on the money. There seems to be a component of enticing power users to stick with Windows as well. The app is still “in beta” despite the first release being in 1996 (!). I had to look that up, because I’d only heard about it in the early windows 10 days.

Yeah, calculation of the amount of possible strings containing only a-f is trivial. But the idea is for addresses to be memorable. So I’m wondering how many strings which are valid IPv6 addresses are possible if you are limited to actual English (or, pick a language) 4-letter words containing only a-f. As someone mentioned, this could be expanded with 1337-speak.

But you’re limited to a-f. I wonder if anyone’s figured out how many addresses are actually possible with that system.

Same here. Once my iMac G3 and 2nd gen iPod Touch shit the bed, I was out. My parents are mac people and frequently ask me for help with random, outlandish issues on their Macs (since I’m a “computer person”) and I’m usually at a loss.
